Welcome to Warkworth Museum

Steeped in history and set in the stunning Parry Kauri Park, the Warkworth District Museum offers something for everyone. Visitors can learn the story of Warkworth’s rich heritage, which is told through our wonderful collections and exhibits. Children love our outside displays, including the old jail, and two US Army huts from World War II.  Or, inside they can discover scenes from yesterday including an old classroom, a general store, a blacksmiths or even “the murderhouse.”

Our museum store offers ice creams and cold drinks together with a range of locally crafted items and publications.

For serious research and genealogy, our archives department is available by appointment.

Parking is easy, safe and secure, and we’re just a few minutes drive from the main street.
