Tudor Collins remembered at the Matakohe Museum

About two years ago the Warkworth Museum was approached by the Matakohe Kauri Museum with a request to assist with their upcoming display featuring the work of Tudor Collins. They have a large collection of memorabilia of Tudors but there were some gaps in it which they asked if we could fill.

The exhibition is set to run for two years and after consultation with the management committee Victoria our Manager/Curator agreed to the loan of some of the photographic equipment that we hold. The exhibition opened in December of 2016 and the Warkworth & District museums President, Derek Hoggart and his wife Pat represented the museum at the opening.

Lisa Tolich the Chief Executive of the Kauri Museum took advantage of a quiet period on the opening day to inspect some of the items loaned by the Warkworth Museum.

The display is very comprehensive and includes a mock up of his electrical and photographic shop in Warkworth containing lots of his items and examples of items he had for sale including electrical appliances, radios and gramophones.
